I've always been blessed to work with wonderful musicians. At some point,  I decided to go into the studio and preserve a musical moment in time with the guys I love and respect. This compilation is a  cross section of 5 different recording sessions with 5 different groups.
...The genius of Ira Sullivan's playing has been well documented.  Inspirational, creative, a musical force. Here, this gifted multi-instrumentalist is heard on trumpet and soprano sax, along with Ron Perillo's intensity on the piano, backed by the solid swinging of Joel Spencer on drums and Kelly Sill on bass, whose warm dark sound and inventive ideas always make me happy.
...To the sweetness of Howard Levy's harmonica against the beautiful string arrangement of Manny Mendelson, the tender Brazilian guitar of Fareed Haque, with Alejo Poveda and Eric Hockberg creating a hypnotic samba bed for the music to float over.
...Or the driving force of the Chicago tenors Von Freeman, Eddie Johnson, Edward Petersen, and the crisp trumpet of Art Davis all backed by the rock solid energy of Brad Williams at the piano and Kelly Sill and Joel Spencer on bass and drums.
... To the vibes trio featuring Dave Carey, who is full of musical enthusiasm and ideas, the thoughtful bass of Ray Kilday and the great playing of Ronnie Zito, who does everything with such taste.
...And the guitar/organ trio has Joe Lano's brilliant guitar playing, Vincent Falcone's soulful swingin' organ, and Tommy Check pulsing steadily, driving it home.

Or Vinnie on solo piano, playing so beautifully.  A singers dream.

...I consider these musicians my extended family and have many precious memories of live gigs with all of them.  Going into the studio to catch a few moments, was very special.
I hope you enjoy it...
